NHAI Announces Major Public Relief: KYV Discontinued for Cars on New FASTag Issued after 1 February 2026

• NHAI has scrapped the Know Your Vehicle (KYV) process for Car/Jeep/Van category FASTags issued on/after 1 February 2026, ending post-activation harassment of users.
• KYV will survive only as a complaint-triggered check (loose tags, wrong issuance, misuse), not a routine requirement.
• Relevant for UPSC under GS-II (Government policies/citizen services) and GS-III (Infrastructure & technology in tolling).
