• "Know Your Survey: A User Guide to the Annual Survey of Unincorporated Sector Enterprises (ASUSE)" is the first-ever reader-friendly user guide released by the National Statistical Office (NSO) under MoSPI to demystify ASUSE methodology for data users.
• ASUSE is the flagship annual survey on unincorporated non-agricultural enterprises in manufacturing, trade and other services (excluding construction) — a proxy for India's informal/MSME economy.
• Relevance: tests official statistics architecture, informal sector measurement, and the NSO's recent transparency push (GS-III economy; GS-II governance).
