Ships built by GSL & other Indian yards are floating symbols of India’s sovereignty, says Raksha Mantri ahead of commissioning of Pollution Control Vessel ‘Samudra Pratap’ into ICG
- ICGS Samudra Pratap is India's first indigenously designed Pollution Control Vessel (PCV), built by Goa Shipyard Limited (GSL) for the Indian Coast Guard (ICG).
- Commissioned by Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh on 05 January 2026 at Goa; largest ship in the ICG fleet to date with >60% indigenous content.
- Anchors the Aatmanirbhar Bharat in Defence narrative and the ICG's mandate over Marine Pollution Response (MPR) in India's vast EEZ.
