Supporting Balanced Fertilization: Nutrient-Based Subsidy Rates for Rabi 2025-26

• Nutrient-Based Subsidy (NBS) is the policy framework under which the Centre fixes per-kg subsidies on Phosphatic & Potassic (P&K) fertilizers (urea is outside NBS).
• Cabinet has approved revised NBS rates for Rabi 2025-26 (01.10.2025–31.03.2026) covering 28 grades of P&K fertilizers including DAP and NPKS.
• Tentative outgo: ₹37,952.29 crore — ~₹736 crore higher than Kharif 2025.
• Relevant for GS-III (Agriculture, subsidies, MSP, public distribution) and Prelims (schemes, ministries, numbers).
