• The 79th Foundation Day (06 Jan 2026) framed BIS's pivot from a regulator to a facilitator of quality, aligned with Ease of Doing Business and Atmanirbhar Bharat.
• Relevant for UPSC across consumer protection, standards diplomacy (WTO–TBT), MSME competitiveness, and digital governance.
