• First Advance Estimates (FAE) of GDP for FY 2025-26 released by the National Statistics Office (NSO) under MoSPI on 07 January 2026.
• Headline: Real GDP growth at 7.4% in FY 2025-26 vs 6.5% in FY 2024-25; Nominal GDP growth at 8.0%.
• FAE feeds directly into the Union Budget exercise and serves as the first official numerical baseline for the fiscal year; examinable for GS-III (Indian Economy) and Prelims data.
