Year end review of Animal Husbandry and Dairy Department for the year 2025

• Livestock is the fastest-growing sub-sector of Indian agriculture; CAGR 12.77% (2014-15 to 2023-24) with GVA share rising from 24.38% to 30.87%.
• India remains world's largest milk producer (~25% of global output); flagship schemes — Rashtriya Gokul Mission (RGM), NPDD, NLM, LHDCP, NDDB-led interventions — drive breed improvement, disease control and dairy cooperativisation.
