Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, Shri Amit Shah chairs 9th Apex-Level Meeting of NCORD in New Delhi

• NCORD (Narco-Coordination Centre) is the four-tier inter-agency mechanism of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) to coordinate drug law enforcement between Centre, States and field agencies.
• The 9th Apex-Level Meeting (chaired by Union HM Shri Amit Shah in New Delhi) launched a three-year national campaign against drugs starting 31 March 2026 and set a 2029 roadmap for all Government of India departments.
• The Meeting also marked inauguration of the NCB Amritsar Zonal Office (a key node for the Punjab–Pakistan border narco-corridor).
• Examinable as GS-III (Internal Security – narco-terrorism) and GS-II (governance/institutional mechanisms).
