BHASHINI Samudaye: Strengthening India’s Language AI Ecosystem

• BHASHINI Samudaye is a collaborative initiative of the Digital India BHASHINI Division (DIBD), MeitY to co-create, govern, and scale language AI solutions for India by convening language experts, academic institutions, civil society, and data practitioners.
• It operationalises BHASHINI's mandate under the National Language Translation Mission (NLTM) to eliminate language barriers in digital service delivery across all Indian languages.
• UPSC relevance: intersects GS-II (governance, digital inclusion) and GS-III (S&T — AI/NLP); ties to the 8th Schedule language framework and Digital India.
