INDIAN ARMY CELEBRATES 78TH ARMY DAY AT JAIPUR

• Army Day commemorates 15 January 1949, when Field Marshal K.M. Cariappa took over as the first Indian C-in-C of the Indian Army from Gen. Sir Francis Butcher.
• The 78th Army Day (2026) was hosted at Jaipur, Rajasthan, under the South Western Command; significant for being the 4th time outside Delhi and 1st time outside a cantonment (held on city streets).
