Department of Posts Delivers First-Ever ONDC Online Order as Logistics Service Provider

• India Post, under the Ministry of Communications, has been onboarded onto the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) as a Logistics Service Provider (LSP).
• Marks the convergence of a legacy public postal network with a digital public infrastructure (DPI) for e-commerce — a high-yield UPSC theme cutting across GS-II (governance) and GS-III (economy, IT, infra).
• Strengthens last-mile logistics for MSMEs, artisans, farmers and rural entrepreneurs ("Bharatpreneurs") by plugging India Post's pan-India reach into ONDC's interoperable network.
