• Bioenergy (biomass-derived heat, steam, power, biogas, biofuels) is being positioned as a key lever for decarbonising industrial process heat in MSMEs, a hard-to-abate segment where electrification is technically/economically difficult.
• Pushed by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) under the National Bioenergy Programme (NBP), 2021–26 with a budgetary outlay of ₹1,715 crore.
