Shri Praveen Vashista appointed as Vigilance Commissioner in the Central Vigilance Commission

• Praveen Vashista, a 1991-batch IPS officer of Bihar Cadre, took oath as Vigilance Commissioner in the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) on 16 January 2026.
• Appointment made by President of India via warrant dated 12 December 2025 under Section 4(1) of the CVC Act, 2003.
• Relevant for Prelims (institutions) and GS-II (statutory bodies, anti-corruption architecture).
