IWDC 3.0 to Chart the Next Phase of Growth for India’s Inland Waterways
- IWDC is the apex Centre–State policy body chaired by the Union Minister of Ports, Shipping & Waterways (MoPSW) to accelerate development of Inland Water Transport (IWT).
- IWDC 3.0 was held on 23 January 2026 at Kochi, Kerala, chaired by Shri Sarbananda Sonowal, and approved projects worth over ₹1,500 crore.
- Relevance: cross-cuts GS-III (infrastructure, logistics, environment), GS-II (cooperative federalism) and Maritime India Vision 2047.
