India’s Power Transmission Network Crosses 5 Lakh Circuit Km
- India's inter-State + intra-State transmission network (220 kV and above) crossed 5 lakh circuit kilometres (ckm) on 14 January 2026, with cumulative transformation capacity of 1,407 GVA.
- It is the world's largest synchronous national grid ("One Nation–One Grid–One Frequency"), and the backbone for evacuating India's expanding non-fossil power to load centres.
