Five Companies Selected Under PLI White Goods Scheme; Production to Reach ₹8,337 Crore
- PLI Scheme for White Goods (ACs & LED Lights) is a Government of India production-linked incentive scheme under the Ministry of Commerce & Industry / DPIIT, aimed at building a domestic component ecosystem in two import-heavy white-goods segments.
- In the 4th round (results announced 23 Jan 2026), 5 AC-component manufacturers were provisionally selected, committing ₹863 crore investment and projecting ₹8,337.24 crore production with 1,799 direct jobs by FY 2027-28.
- Cumulatively, 85 selected companies are to invest ₹11,198 crore and generate ₹1,90,050 crore in production over the scheme period.
- Examinable as a flagship instance of India's Aatmanirbhar Bharat / 14 PLI schemes architecture (GS-III: industrial policy).
