IWDC 3.0 Approves Over ₹1,500 Crore Projects to Drive Green Mobility, Cargo Movement & River Tourism on India’s Inland Waterways

• IWDC 3.0 is the 3rd meeting of the Inland Waterways Development Council, a Centre–State coordination platform under the Ministry of Ports, Shipping & Waterways (MoPSW) for inland water transport (IWT) development.
• Held 23 January 2026 in Kochi, Kerala; approved projects worth over ₹1,500 crore covering green mobility, cargo movement and river tourism.
• Relevant for UPSC under GS-III (Infrastructure, Transport) and GS-II (Cooperative Federalism) — links to Maritime India Vision 2047, Sagarmala, and National Waterways Act, 2016.
