- Implemented under the Digital Agriculture Mission (DAM) approved by the Union Cabinet in September 2024 with outlay of ₹2,817 crore (Centre share ₹1,940 crore).
- Aims to issue a "Kisan ki Pehchaan" Farmer ID (Aadhaar-like digital identity) to 11 crore farmers by FY 2026-27, enabling targeted scheme delivery, credit, advisory and insurance.
- UPSC relevance: intersects GS-II (governance/DPI), GS-III (agriculture, technology, e-governance).
