Progress of Area Coverage under Rabi Crops as on 30th January 2026

• Rabi sowing progress report released by the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers' Welfare (Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, DA&FW) on 2 February 2026 for the cut-off date 30 January 2026.
• Total Rabi area coverage reached 676.84 lakh hectares, a YoY rise of 15.88 lakh ha over the corresponding period of 2024-25.
• Salient for UPSC: feeds into food-security, MSP, agri-GDP and inflation discussion (GS-III), and benchmarks performance against DES (Directorate of Economics & Statistics) Normal Area.
