• ANRF is India's apex body for funding, mentoring and steering research, innovation and entrepreneurship across natural sciences, engineering, humanities and social sciences.
• Established by the ANRF Act, 2023, brought into force on 5 February 2024; subsumes the erstwhile Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB).
