• Tripartite agreement signed in New Delhi between Government of India, Government of Nagaland, and the Eastern Nagaland Peoples' Organisation (ENPO) creating the Frontier Nagaland Territorial Authority (FNTA) for six eastern districts of Nagaland.
• A sub-state autonomy arrangement (not statehood) devolving 46 subjects to FNTA with legislative, executive and financial autonomy within Nagaland.
