NATIONAL SPORTS POLICY

• Khelo Bharat Niti (KBN), 2025 is India's new National Sports Policy, superseding the National Sports Policy, 2001, approved by the Union Cabinet and launched in July 2025 by the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports (MYAS).
• Vision: "Sports for Nation Building — Harness the Power of Sports for Nation's Holistic Development".
• It is a framework policy (no fresh financial outlay; no new scheme) implemented via a whole-of-Government + multi-stakeholder approach — relevant for GS-II (governance) and GS-I (society).
• Backstops India's 2036 Olympic bid and integrates sports with NEP 2020.
