PM hails the Historic Agreement to Boost Development in Eastern Nagaland

• A tripartite agreement signed on 05 February 2026 at New Delhi between GoI (MHA), Government of Nagaland and the Eastern Nagaland Peoples' Organisation (ENPO) to create the Frontier Nagaland Territorial Authority (FNTA) within Nagaland.
• Resolves the long-pending ENPO demand for a separate "Frontier Nagaland" state by granting legislative, executive and financial autonomy to six eastern districts, without bifurcating Nagaland.
• Significant for UPSC under GS-II (federalism, polity, NE peace process) and GS-III (internal security, Northeast development).
