• PMBJP = Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana, a flagship scheme to make quality generic medicines available at affordable prices through dedicated retail outlets called Jan Aushadhi Kendras (JAKs).
• Implemented by the Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, with Pharmaceuticals & Medical Devices Bureau of India (PMBI) as the implementing agency.
• High UPSC salience: intersects health affordability, universal health coverage, fiscal savings, MSME-style entrepreneurship, and Centre–State delivery.
