JJ Act provides a security net of service delivery structures to ensure comprehensive well-being of children in distress situations
- The Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015 is India's primary law for care and protection of children, administered by the Ministry of Women and Child Development (MWCD).
- The Act creates a statutory net of service delivery structures — institutional + non-institutional — for two target groups: Children in Need of Care and Protection (CNCP) and Children in Conflict with Law (CCL).
- Implementation lies with State Governments / UT administrations; the Centre supports through the centrally sponsored Mission Vatsalya.
