Production linked Incentive Scheme for Food Processing Industries

• PLISFPI is a Central Sector Scheme of the Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI) to incentivise creation of global champions in processed foods, approved by the Union Cabinet on 31 March 2021 with an outlay of ₹10,900 crore for FY 2021-22 to FY 2026-27.
• Part of the larger PLI architecture covering 14 sectors; UPSC relevance lies in GS-III (food processing, manufacturing, employment) and the Atmanirbhar Bharat / Make in India policy push.
