• UIDAI crossed 1 crore Mandatory Biometric Updates (MBUs) for schoolchildren across 83,000 schools in 5 months, announced 8 Feb 2026.
• Achieved via technological integration of Aadhaar database with UDISE+ (Unified District Information System for Education Plus) of the Department of School Education & Literacy.
• Relevant to UPSC for e-Governance, DBT plumbing, child rights, federal coordination (UIDAI + States + School Education Dept.).
