CRAFTSMEN TRAINING SCHEME

• Craftsmen Training Scheme (CTS) is India's oldest flagship long-term vocational training programme delivered through Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) and National Skill Training Institutes (NSTIs) under DGT, Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE).
• Successful trainees receive the National Trade Certificate (NTC) awarded under NCVT — a nationally recognised vocational qualification.
• Examinable as both a static scheme (GS-II governance/welfare) and a dynamic skilling-policy topic (GS-III employment).
