NBA Provides Rs. 6.09 Cr Financial Support to State Biodiversity Boards and Union Territory Biodiversity Councils in FY 2025–26

• National Biodiversity Authority (NBA) released Rs 6.09 crore to State Biodiversity Boards (SBBs) and Union Territory Biodiversity Councils (UTBCs) in FY 2025-26 to strengthen India's three-tier biodiversity governance.
• Reflects a strategic pivot from merely constituting Biodiversity Management Committees (BMCs) to making them functional, improving People's Biodiversity Registers (PBRs) and Access & Benefit Sharing (ABS) implementation.
