• World Radio Day (WRD) is a UNESCO-led annual observance on 13 February, marking the founding of United Nations Radio in 1946.

• Relevant for UPSC because it intersects GS-II (international institutions, governance), GS-III (S&T, AI, media) and GS-I (society/communication) — and provides a hook to community radio, Prasar Bharati, and the Information & Broadcasting ecosystem.
