PARLIAMENT QUESTION: APPLICATION OF SATELLITE-BASED SERVICES

• Department of Space (DoS) answered a Lok Sabha question (12 Feb 2026) listing India's satellite inventory by category and the civilian/commercial reach of NavIC services.
• India has launched 135 satellites in total, of which 56 are currently operational across Earth Observation, Communication, Navigation, Space Science and Technology Demonstration.
• Tests both Sci-Tech (GS-III) knowledge of ISRO programmes and Governance/PPP (GS-II/III) awareness of NavIC's downstream civil applications.
