Update on Ayushman Bharat Cards

• AB-PMJAY is the world's largest government-funded health assurance scheme, providing ₹5 lakh/family/year secondary & tertiary hospitalisation cover, launched 23 September 2018.
• The PIB update (13 Feb 2026) reports 35.69 crore Ayushman cards generated and 5.77 crore hospital admissions worth ₹1.15 lakh crore authorised in empanelled private hospitals as on 31 Jan 2026.
• Tests aspirant's grip on flagship welfare delivery, federal health architecture and current data points (Prelims) plus equity-in-healthcare debates (Mains GS-II).
