SUPPORT FOR STARTUPS AND INNOVATION UNDER THE GREAT SCHEME

• GREAT = Grant for Research and Entrepreneurship across Aspiring Innovators in Technical Textiles, a startup-support sub-scheme under the National Technical Textiles Mission (NTTM), Ministry of Textiles.
• Provides grant-in-aid up to ₹50 lakh per startup for translating prototypes into commercial technologies/products in technical textiles.
• UPSC relevance: intersects Startup India, Make-in-India, indigenisation of import-substituting industrial textiles, and scheme-based governance (GS-III economy & S&T).
