• First national call of the ₹2,000 crore BIRAC–RDI Fund, carved out of the ₹1 lakh crore RDI Scheme, announced on 13 Feb 2026 by Dr Jitendra Singh, MoS (IC) Science & Technology.
• Targets the lab-to-industry gap in biotech; aligns with India's $300 billion bioeconomy target by 2030 and $1 trillion by 2047.
• Important for UPSC across GS-III (S&T, Economy, R&D) and intersects with Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) governance.
