Prime Minister inaugurates the first Emergency Landing Facility (ELF) of the northeast in Dibrugarh, Assam
- Emergency Landing Facility (ELF): a designated stretch of a national highway engineered as an alternative runway to land/take-off military and civil aircraft during contingencies, war, or disasters.
- Inaugurated by PM Narendra Modi on 14 February 2026 at Moran Bypass, Dibrugarh district, Assam — the first ELF in the Northeast.
- Strategically significant: situated near the eastern theatre (proximity to China & Myanmar borders) and adds redundancy for HADR (Humanitarian Assistance & Disaster Relief) in flood-prone Brahmaputra valley.
