National Launch of Access Pass for Fishing in India’s Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) Opens New Horizon Marine Fisheries Sector.

• Access Pass is a free, online authorisation enabling Indian fishing vessels to operate in the Exclusive Economic Zone (12–200 nm) beyond the current 40–50 nm coastal range.
• Issued by the Department of Fisheries, Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying (MoFAHD) through the ReALCRaft portal.
• Aims to unlock under-utilised tuna and tuna-like oceanic resources, boost seafood exports, and empower fisheries cooperatives/FFPOs.
• A flagship operationalisation of the Blue Economy push announced in Budget 2025-26 for sustainable harnessing of fisheries from EEZ & high seas.
