India and Brazil Sign TKDL Access Agreement to Strengthen Protection of Traditional Knowledge and Patent Examination Cooperation

• Bilateral arrangement between CSIR (India) and INPI Brazil granting Brazil's patent office access to the Traditional Knowledge Digital Library (TKDL), the world's first prior-art database of codified Indian traditional knowledge.
• Strengthens the defensive protection of India's traditional knowledge against biopiracy and erroneous patent grants abroad.
• Examinable as: IPR + S&T + India-Brazil bilateral + IBSA/BRICS context.
