• MoSPI is revising the base year of National Accounts from 2011-12 to FY 2022-23, with the new GDP series scheduled for release on 27 February 2026.
• The exercise is steered by the Advisory Committee on National Account Statistics (ACNAS) chaired by Prof. B.N. Goldar, which set up five Sub-Committees (2-year term) on specific subject areas.
• The Sub-Committee on Incorporation of New Data Sources, Rates and Ratios (headed by Shri Manish Sinha, CEO, GSTN) submitted its report on 24 February 2026, recommending greater use of GST, HCES 2022-23 and MCA NBFC data in GVA/PFCE compilation.
