• State Innovation Mission (SIM) is a long-term institutional mechanism under AIM 2.0, anchored in NITI Aayog's State Support Mission (SSM), to embed innovation & entrepreneurship in State/UT development frameworks.
• Tripura is the first State to operationalise SIM (launched 26 Feb 2026 in Agartala) — marks a federalisation shift of India's innovation policy from Union-led to State-led ecosystems.
• Relevant for GS-II (Governance, Centre-State) and GS-III (S&T, Economy) — touches innovation policy, cooperative federalism, and Viksit Bharat 2047.
