Centre Reviews Foodgrain Procurement, PDS Reforms with States/UTs; Wheat Procurement Target for RMS 2026-27 Set at 303 LMT

• Department of Food & Public Distribution (DFPD) under Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution convened State Food Secretaries on 06 March 2026 to finalise procurement estimates and PDS reforms.
• Wheat procurement target for Rabi Marketing Season (RMS) 2026-27 fixed at 303 LMT; paddy (Rabi crop) for KMS 2025-26 at 76 LMT (in terms of rice).
• Examinable for GS-III (agriculture marketing, MSP, buffer stocks, food security) and Prelims static + current.
