Jal Mahotsav 2026 marks the beginning with Nationwide Observance of Jal Arpan Diwas, coinciding with International Women’s Day, observed as “Sujalam Shakti Diwas” across the country.

• Jal Mahotsav 2026 is a 15-day nationwide campaign (08–22 March 2026) of the Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation (DDWS), Ministry of Jal Shakti, to deepen Jan Bhagidari in rural drinking water management under Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM).
• It bookends two symbolic days: Jal Arpan Diwas / “Sujalam Shakti Diwas” on International Women’s Day (8 March) and culmination on World Water Day (22 March).
• Operational vehicle for rolling out the Sujal Gram vision and launching JJM 2.0 Guidelines.
