• NTTM is a flagship mission of the Ministry of Textiles to position India as a global leader in technical textiles — functional textiles used for performance (not aesthetic) purposes across 12 application segments.
• Approved by CCEA in February 2020, implementation window 2020-21 to 2025-26, total outlay ₹1,480 crore.
• UPSC-relevant as a GS-III intersection of manufacturing, R&D, Atmanirbhar Bharat, MSME, and strategic materials (carbon fibre, aramid, UHMWPE for defence, infra, healthcare).
