CCTNS OPERATIONAL POLICE STATIONS

• CCTNS (Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and Systems) is a Mission Mode Project under the National e-Governance Plan that digitises core policing processes (FIR, chargesheet, investigation) across all police stations in India.
• Implemented by National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) under the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), it forms the Police pillar of the Inter-operable Criminal Justice System (ICJS).
• UPSC relevance: governance, internal security, e-governance, criminal-justice reform — frequent Prelims fodder (ministry, year, ICJS pillars).
