• NDMP is India's first-ever national-level framework for disaster risk reduction (DRR), issued by the NDMA under the Ministry of Home Affairs, defining roles of Centre, States and districts across all hazards.
• First plan: 2016; revised: 2019 in consultation with all stakeholders.
• Aligns India's DM architecture with the global Sendai Framework (2015-2030), SDGs and the Paris Agreement (COP21) — examinable as a convergence document.
