BORDER AREA DEVELOPMENT SCHEME
- Border Area Development Programme (BADP) is a Centrally Sponsored Scheme under the Department of Border Management, Ministry of Home Affairs, meeting special development needs of populations in remote international land-border villages.
- Complemented by Vibrant Villages Programme (VVP-I & VVP-II) — newer schemes targeting villages along the Northern (China) border and other land borders for "saturation" infrastructure.
- UPSC relevance: bridges GS-II (welfare/Centre-State) and GS-III (internal security, border management).
