CENSUS 2027
- Census 2027 is India's 16th decennial census and the 8th since Independence; first to be conducted digitally with self-enumeration option, and first to officially enumerate castes since 1931.
- Conducted by the Office of the Registrar General & Census Commissioner of India (ORGI) under the Ministry of Home Affairs through the Census Act, 1948.
- Critical for UPSC: links demography, federalism (delimitation, women's reservation), social justice (caste data), and governance (digital public infrastructure).
