PARLIAMENT QUESTION: RESEARCH AND PROJECTS UNDER ANRF
- Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) is India's apex statutory body to provide strategic direction for research, innovation & entrepreneurship across natural sciences, engineering, environment, health, agriculture and S&T interfaces with humanities.
- Established by the ANRF Act, 2023, operational from 5 February 2024, it repealed the SERB Act, 2008 and subsumed the Science & Engineering Research Board.
- Significant for UPSC because it is the chief instrument to operationalise the R&D vision of NEP 2020 and to channel a planned Rs 50,000 crore (2023–28) outlay, including private/philanthropic capital.
