PROPOSAL TO BOOST EXPORT OF TEXTILES AND APPARELS

• Ministry of Textiles announced (13 March 2026) a consolidated bouquet of schemes to push India's textile & apparel (T&A) exports, currently the world's 6th largest.
• T&A is a labour-intensive, women-dominated sector with strong forward-backward linkages — examinable under GS-III (Indian Economy, Manufacturing) and GS-II (Government Schemes).
