Over 90% Punctuality in 24 Divisions of Indian Railways in this Fiscal So Far; 19 Divisions Record 80–90% Punctuality

• Punctuality = % of trains arriving at destination within the scheduled arrival time + permissible grace; measured on terminating basis by Indian Railways (IR).
• In FY 2025-26 (so far), 24 IR divisions crossed 90% punctuality and 19 divisions are in the 80–90% band — a key operational performance indicator routinely tested in UPSC Prelims/Mains (GS-III Infrastructure).
• Improvement is being driven by technology induction — GPS Fog Safe Devices, modified semi-automatic stop signals, AI-based timetable analysis, LHB coaches and higher-HP locomotives.
