ROADMAP FOR TRANSITION FROM MGNREGS TO VB G-RAM G

• VB-G RAM G Act, 2025 replaces the MGNREGA, 2005 as India's statutory rural wage-employment guarantee framework, aligned with Viksit Bharat @2047 vision.
• Section 37 of the new Act provides the transitional architecture — covering works, liabilities, assets, records, funds and continuity of wage employment for existing MGNREGS workers.
• Examinable for GS-II (welfare schemes, statutory bodies) and GS-III (rural economy, employment).
